The Student Readiness Tools (SRTs) are resources used to familiarize students and educators with the online and paper MCAs. In each SRT, students will learn how to navigate within the test, use tools and test supports, and indicate answers to different types of questions.

Online SRTs
The Online SRTs are available for students in each grade level to review video lessons and complete practice activities. Before you start, check that your computer, laptop, or tablet will work. Minnesota statewide assessments are compatible with many devices and browsers, but not all. Learn more about the technology guidelines here.

MTAS Resources
SRTs for the new Alternate MCA will be available starting with science in 2024–25, when this assessment replaces the Minnesota Test of Academic Skills (MTAS). In the meantime, MTAS released questions for each grade and subject are available to familiarize students and educators with the format of the test. Alternate MCA sample tasks are also provided.
