Item samplers provide students the opportunity to apply what they learn from the online student tutorial in a practice setting. These item samplers are aligned to the Minnesota Academic Standards but contain fewer items than an actual full-length test. They are provided to help students and teachers become familiar with the test, but they are not practice tests and are not suitable for predicting how students will perform on the assessment.
Accessing Online Item Samplers
There are two ways to access online item samplers. The first is through the Item Samplers page on PearsonAccess Next, and the second is through the Training Center.
How item samplers are accessed will depend on the type of preparation needed. The table below lists differences in the item samplers based on how they are accessed. Regardless of which way the item samplers are accessed, students will have the opportunity to practice navigating, answering items, and using tools. Accessing item samplers through the Training Center also allows teachers to practice test administration and students to practice signing in to a test using a testing ticket.
